The data driven band website.
Current version is 1.0, exclusively for LAMP platforms.
I developed a website for my band a few years ago, and it has mostly been set it and forget it, so I thought I would share my work with fellow musicians.
The real advantage of this design is that you don't have to do anything except update the database to maintain your site. By design, it automatically organizes your contacts, venues, set list, and gigs.
Features
- Automated Booking
- It enables people to contact you for a booking at anytime through the website
- People who contact you for a booking are automatically entered into your contacts table
- If you accept the booking, the band schedule is automatically updated and the entire site reflects this.
- Fan Registry
- Your fans can enter themselves into the fan registry quickly and easily right from the frontpage of the site.
- You now have a central, persistent fan base listing.
- Automatically Notifies your Fanbase of Your Upcoming Gig(s) via email (optional).
- Automatic Expiration of Events and News
- You can enter in an expiration date for an event or news story so that you don't have to remove old stuff from the website.

- Organizes The Data For Your Band
- AND MORE!
The band website template was the basis for the Monkey Knife Fight website seen here and has been in use for over 2 years.
- New Gig? Place the event in the database, and everything is automatically up-to-date.
- New venue? These are stored in the database along with the google maps url to give your visitors a map to the show.
- The very next show is automatically shown on the front page. The event page has all of your upcoming shows.
- After a gig, if you have pictures, you just upload them to a downloadable area and update the database to reflect the url to the picture gallery.
- Want to customize it to put your own stuff in there? No problem! You have all the html and php, do whatever you want!
- The admin pages are phpmyadmin, so you can allow anyone you want to have a UI to maintain the database - even your drummer!
